OpenSSH umask in SFTP problem

Hi,

I have a problem setting OpenSSH to use user umask (002) in STFP
sessions. I have umask set to 002 in many places (including ~/.profile,
~/.cshrc, ~/.shrc), but OpenSSH still uses umask 022.

Any ideas how to convince OpenSSH sftp-server to user user umask, or
just one predefined umask ?

System: freeBSD (4.10)

Best regards,
