More info
I have re-read the PuTTY docs and now have a "Local" port forwarding set
for 21:remothostname.domain:21 Because I have no FTP daemon running
on my Windows box there is no conflict on port 21.
Using Win2k's FTP I can connect to localhost (default port of 21) and
login with my remote username and password. I get a "230 User logged
in". "pwd" shows my correct remote directory. "cd" can even change my
remote directory.
"dir" and "get" and "put" all return the following error
425-Can't build data connection for xx.xx.xx.xx,50895
425 connect to network object rejected
remotehost is a VMS system.
