After a little bit of research, I've got everything pretty much figured
out. The problem was that I need the Windows XP equivalent commands to use
in the .bat, since the ones given only worked for Windows 98. But some
careful Googling fixed my problem, and everything seems to be working
well.
Using just a single backslash in the puttyrnd.reg file, I haven't noticed
any problems so far. But I'll keep it in mind if it looks like any more
issues crop up. Thanks.
