I don't think Bill had any trouble knowing how to kill ssh; he simply
wants to know why it's not exiting of its own. Besides, the direct way to
do this is simply to type return-tilde-dot.

This has exactly nothing to do with SSH -- you just have commands in
various shell startup or login files to set the xterm title via terminal
escape sequences.
