RH9, set up key, RSA 1024 using SSH-KEYGEN.
Note the public key is xx:xx:xx...yawn:xx:xx
Try to connect, using PuTty on Windows:
- get a PuTTY security alert (as expected), with a totally different
fingerprint yy:yy:yy....yawn...yy:yy
Not what I was expecting:
- have I cocked something up?
- or have I got someone else between Win and RH9?
So, I respnd "NO",a nd go for the "connect once, but don't add the key
to the trusted list"...and I can connect fine.!
So, wot's happening?
Words of one syllable would help, if poss.
Cheers
R
