Only with the windows 2k desktop and laptop running Cygwin/X can I get
ssh and xx working both ways. I can use the ultra 10 (solaris 9) as a
client and it works with X, but with the Cygwin/X (laptop or desktop)
as the client and the ultra 10 as the server ssh works but Xforwarding
does not work.
I think you caught that, but I just wanted to make sure.

Solaris 9 has Sun's version of Openssh called sunssh running the
server as a daemon. It came automatically with my downloaded iso's of
solaris 9 from sun - I did not compile it myself.
I do have OpenBSD 3.4 and mandrake 9.1 triple booting with windows on
my desktop with the Cygwin/X. I'll try to configure both OpenBSD and
the Mandrake within the next two days or so. On both I will use
OpenSSH, but in the mean time:
What the heck can be soooo different about Solaris running sshd? the
sshd_config file is where you set the X forwarding in OpenSSH - it
should work! I have tried a dozen times or so since the last post. I
was thinking that maybe the X forwarding was just way slow, so I left
the room after I started xclock for about a half hour, when I came
back it had an error and it said that it could not find display:
my_solaris9_ssh_server:10.0. Could there be something strange with
sunx that I have to set up another display for solaris? I thought
that you didn't even need an xserver running on the server box - I
thought the client end server took care of X.
Anyhow, thank you for replying. I'll update after I get the OpenBSD's
Openssh running - considering that it is as close to a native platform
for Openssh as you can get.
