    On your CygWin SSH client, what does "echo $DISPLAY" say before you make the
    SSH connection? What does it say *after* you make the SSH connection?

    OK, good stuff. You have X and SSH working both ways.

    What SSH or OpenSSH do you have on the Solaris box? Did you compile it
    yourself, or grab a binary from somewhere? And do you have any other UNIX or
    Linux SSH servers you can test this with?
