The usual answer is that you ought to be using public key
authentication instead, since that's carefully set up to allow
unattended operation. Passwords are supposed to be an unfortunate
relic of obsolete technology, sadly not quite defunct, so not all
software maintainers are particularly interested in making it easy
to do lots of complicated things with them.

Because nobody felt like it.
Don't forget that this is a newsgroup, not a tech support line.
Nobody here is paid to answer your questions, and nobody here has
any kind of obligation to answer your questions. People who answer
questions here do it because they are kind and generous people who
go out of their way to help others. Anyone who doesn't happen to
have a good answer to your question, or doesn't happen to have time
to answer any questions that week, will just ignore it and hope
someone else answers it; and if everyone happens to do that at the
same time then you're just unlucky.
(In particular, most of the people on here who are exceptionally
knowledgeable about SSH are precisely the sort of people who will be
using public keys instead of passwords themselves, so it isn't too
surprising if they don't happen to know the fine details of the
password mechanisms.)
Shouting at people for not being kind and generous towards you is
unlikely to inspire them to be more kind and generous!
