Hi,
I hope this is right place to ask this question. I found most X11
forwarding questions asked here.
I have a notebook computer running Mandrake linux. I use it both at
work and at home. At work, I have a work ip address. At home, I have a
small home network connecting a few computers with a home ip address
assigned to the same notebook. At work, it works fine with X11
forwarding from another work machine. However, I have trouble to do
X11 forwarding from another home machine to my notebook. Occasionally,
it will work just fine. Most of the time, when I do "X -indirect
192.168.xx.xx :1", it won't work and the error message will say it
cannot open the display at "my work ip:1". Apparently, X try to use
the display on my work ip. I wonder if I can tell my X that I have now
switched to home ip. I check "hostname -i", "ifconfig" and they all
say I have home ip. X is the only one still hanging on my work ip.
This also happens if I do "ssh home-ip xterm". How should I solve this
problem?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Jih-tung Pai
