Greetings,
I am currently traveling abroad and am trying to access my home
computer to run a program and display it on my remote machine. I am
trying to use T-Surf's Gocad program (3-D modeling program) on an SGI
(home) and display it on a Mac using XWindows. For firewall reasons I
can't just set the display variables, but need to use ssh -X. However
when I do this I can easily display on my remote machine applications
like xclock and xedit but not Gocad. It launches and then hangs. This
used to happen even when I tried to let ssh set the variables when I
was on our local network at home and (obviously) it continues to be a
problem when I try to access remotely. Any idea why this is occurring,
or more importantly how to fix it? Thanks in advance for any
assistance.
Yours Truly,
Chris Guzofski
