Newbie...PuTTY Question(s)...

Hi All,

I'm a home user, win2kPro and use UltraDev4 for some small web
developing and was wondering if using PuTTY for extra security would
be wise..? I use a soft firewall, Kerio. I generally FTP to my hosted
server via UD4. Am I going a little too high with all this..? I've
read where my password etc is not secure when FTPing with UD4 and came
across the topic of .ssh, which I know nothing about and PuTTY, which
I know even less...any help/suggestions, even laughter is
appreciated..cheers.
