Hi there, I'm getting a weird sftp problem when using the "ls" command that
only happens under certain network situations:
I'm on Earthlink DSL with a dynamic IP. On top of that, if I check my
computer-assigned IP it differs from that seen by the outside world. Now,
when I sftp to my server from outside (so I use that outside IP), I can
connect (as can ssh), but it stalls when I use "ls".
Here's where it gets interesting: my server is also behind a cheapo dsl
router, and I have two machines on that router. If I sftp to the internal
Earthlink assigned IP from another machine on my router to my server (so I
use Earthlink's internal IP), I can ls as usual. Finally, if I use the sftp
server and just "sftp localhost", ls also works.
Since the whole point of my sftp server is the ability to use it from an
outside IP, what do I need to do to fix this? I've heard mention of the ls
problem, but no good solutions yet...
Ideas?
