Hi,
Does anyone know about a possibility to do dynamic TCP port forwarding
with OpenSSH, based on monitoring ongoing GIOP protocol messages?
I have a situation, where I have to access a remote machine over SSH TCP
port forwarding ONLY (no direct connection possible) and Netscape. I can
forward the HTTP control port (8888), but then the applets start to talk
to the remote machine using CORBA and GIOP protocol. OK, I can also
forward the default GIOP 4001 port as well, but for certain features the
server assigns a non-standard dynamically allocated port at the remote
machine, where my machine should connect to (TCP).
It is not possible to guess in advance, which ports will be open at the
remote machine for what features, so I cannot statically let ssh know
about them. End result: cannot access those features.
The only solution would be to monitor the GIOP messages between the
application (Netscape) and the remote machine, then set-up port
forwarding dynamically to ensure that all needed ports are forwarded to
the remote machine.
If you have any suggestion or opinion, let me know, thanks in advance.
Best regards
Zoltan
