Chris,

1. Firstly, you should not that AFAIK there are versions of VNC which
already have built-in encryption. Consult the VNC archive at
http://www.realvnc.com/pipermail/vnc-list/ or post to the VNC mailing
list through http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list for
further information.

2. Having said that, I have used the Cygwin port of OpenSSH server on
Windows 2000 Professional to establish a secure tunnel for VNC
connections, with no significant issues:

http://www.cygwin.com/

FYI Cygwin is essentially a package of Win32 ports of the most common
Red Hat Linux libraries and utilities which allows you to run things
such as OpenSSH in a Win32 environment.

Specific instructions on getting OpenSSH running in such a configuration
are available at

http://tech.erdelynet.com/cygwin-sshd.html

which I must admit I found most helpful. Note that some basic
unix/linux/bsd experience ( ls, chmod, chown, cp - that sort of thing )
would not go astray in getting it to work, keeping it working, and
keeping it secure; if *nix is not your sort of thing, you may want to
investigate option (1) first.

If you need any further assitance please don't hesitate to contact me
directly if you prefer [remove the 'no-spam-to-' part of my Hotmail
address ;) ]

Best of luck.
