We're running Openserver 5.0.5 with required supplements.
With all the fervor regarding the latest release of
OpenSSH, I have downloaded openssh 3.4. At the same time,
I have also tried to compile ssh using the latest stable
version of openssl (0.9.6d).
After much experimenting, I have concluded that I can
configure and compile openssh 3.4 if my installed openssl
is version 0.9.6c. But when I try to run ./configure for
ssh when ssl version 0.9.6d is installed, I get:
*** Can't find recent OpenSSL libcrypto (see config.log for details)
The config.log also includes the following undefined symbol:
undefined first referenced
symbol in file
RAND_add conftest.o
This *appears* to be an SCO affliction, because I had no problems
on my Solaris system, and another colleague with Openserver
is having the same problem as me. I suppose I could try making
environment variables - I tried LD_LIBRARY_PATH already
with no luck - so see if it would pick up the crypto libraries, but
why would ssl 0.9.6c work fine? Could this be an SCO-specific
bug with openssh 3.4?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
