If you're compiling from source there are compile time options for a
couple of the more common proxies. Its been a while but I think it can
be set up to use the TIS telnet proxy and Socks 4 or 5.
I think SecureCRT will also work with a Socks or TIS style proxy as
well if you need a Windows client.

Again its been a long time but I think that once you set the
appropriate environmental variables to point to the proxy, the whole
process is transparent.
