Resolution:
A SecureCRT configuration under Global Options - SSH2 panel -Agent
section - deselect "Enable OpenSSH agent forwarding" & "Add keys to
agent". Then close all sessions of SecureCRT and restart SecureCRT to
enable the new Global settings. During session connection, I am now
prompted for the passphrase for the private key on my desktop to
authenticate the session to the server.
Many thanks to VanDyke SecureCRT support for providing the resolution.
