Not sure of the function of these variables, its a request by the
developers of an app that remote users are running.

My thoughts are its a kind of "Are they local" thing, which I did sugest
that they use "SSH_CLIENT" or "SSH_TTY", but got nowhere.

Sounds like I am going to have to put some logic into some shell scripts,
to do the same thing.
