If I remove the contents of /etc/motd and the banner statement from the
server's, /etc/ssh/sshd_config, yes no banners will appear. Typically,
though, I want an interactive session to see the banner, but wish for batch
to ignore it.
I understand openssh receives the banner as stderr, but if I redirect stderr
not only will the banner be redirected, but so will the valuable errors I
need to see from my batch programs.
Seems like I'm just stuck sifting through banners for now.....
