I'm would like to auto-generate keys for a lot of different UNIX-hosts
(HPUX, Solaris, Digital UNIX and Linux) and then distribute them to
the hosts during auto-installation (in a secure way).
The distribution part is no problem, but how do I generate a key for
one host on another? Is the hostname in the key-file the only
difference and can I just replace this before I distribute it to a
host or is the hostname contained in the key itself.
It does not seem like ssh-keygen supports an option for giving a
hostname, which would be usefull in my scenario.
Any help would be appriciated.
(I'm using OpenSSH -- latest version)
