So, you have no idea what the shareware installed. The safer way is
to wipe the hard disk, and install everything from scratch. That way,
you also get rid of the spyware you installed. Of course, the author
of the shareware could be tracking the IP address _range_ of systems
that downloaded the program, in which case you have to either buy
the software, or visit a different news group to get the answer. You
are posting from a search engine - have you tried looking there? I'm
sure they have a lot of more appropriate newsgroups. The server I'm
seeing your post on has LOTS of that kind of newsgroup:
