FTC Loses Laptops - Compromises Information of Suspected Fraudsters

Now the FTC has lost two laptops containing personal information. In
this instance, some of the information is on people suspected of fraud.
Free "credit monitoring services" will now have to be provided to them.
Is this politically correct, or what?
