BOT programs and spy software

I have been told by an ex-partner that I had my computer monitored by
her using a 'BOT' program or something? I have broadband with Norton
Firewall and antivirus software and she told me that from her remote
location (her home) she has and did monitor everything I did, from
emails to web use etc, and that it was via a type of program called a
BOT or similar. Apparently it can send information to a printer or a
fax machine?
I have little idea about this sort of thing. Is it possible and if so
how do I detect it and remove it from my PC, or stop it?
Also, does anyone know if there is illegal mobile phone tracking
software that will track a phone without the knowledge of the phone
owner? I think she may have done that too, maybe still does.. (bunny
boiler!!) ANY and all information, only if you genuinely know rather
than are being paranoid, would be appreciated :-)
