    AVG (http://www.grisoft.com) is quite good, as is Avast (please don't ask
    me where to get that one, though. I haven't used it in years).

    Recommend you also do something about syware and other, equivalent
    threats. As a rule, I usually recommend a suite of four programs:

    1. Zonealarm personal firewall
    2. AVG Antivirus
    3. Spybot Search and Destroy
    4. Ad-Aware.

    These four are all free and all very good.
