I wouldn't know out of my own experience, but I have read messages
from people who have said that they had reported notable security bugs
to Microsoft and that the bugs had not been fixed (or publically
documented) a year later.
This is hearsay; I have no information with which to evaluate the
truth of or occurance rate for this.
