Sign e-mail with server certificate

I'd like outgoing e-mails from an SMTP server to be digitally signed.
Is it possible to sign these e-mail messages with a server-level
certificate without producing e-mail client errors that the From email
address doesn't match the e-mail address in the signing certificate?

Are there any other signing methods that can be used to enhance the
proof that a message was sent from a particular SMTP server?

Thanks,

Jim
