Howdy!

I made my first mistake of buying a cheap Compaq computer at a
Wal-Mart. Right out of the box and on when I was first powered the
thing on, it already had the blasterworm on it, I've never heard of a
new computer having this on it, so I patched it and it ran alright. My
second mistake was not taking it back. I used it awhile and soon I was
having major problems, it was processing everything very slow (I
thought it might have been my dial-up service at the time) I was
getting virtual memory is low messages every other hour, starting the
computer up took about ten minutes to get it going.
I figured it most be some spyware, so I went a bought adware and
downloaded Spybot Search and Destroy, every day I have around 30 found
files or programs, Norton seems to find a virus every other day.
I use the internet, but I don't download music or movies or files or
any kind. How am I getting so much junk?
Now I have e-mail accounts with Yahoo & Hotmail, in Yahoo I can't
compose a message and in Hotmail, it will not let me send, is this due
to a virus??

Is it time to throw this hunk of junk away and start fresh? If I bought
firewall software and did a system restore, would it clean it up close
to 100%?

Any thoughts or opinons would be nice!
