I am a 53 year old male with 22 years in the IT industry and a BSCS. I have
a varied background consisting of some network administration, pre and post
sales support, research and development, and QA. I seem to be heading
deeper and deeper into QA since '01 and don't really care for it, but it is
a paycheck.
All that being said I have been thinking about getting into network security
as it involves, from what I can see, a lot more of the type of things I
enjoy. From what I can ascertain, it appears the CISSP is worthless without
at least 3 years of related work
Is this even a remotely realistic direction for me to be thinking about and
what advice would somebody in this segment of the industry give me in order
to attack it?
