If your server gets compromised, that sort of defeats everything in your
statement right? Firewall being disabled AFTER being compromised? Thats
the least of your worries. Im not saying a software firewall is good
enough, its just good for that extra security for malware or otherwise
trying to initiate an outgoing connection. An external hardware firewall
is more important to implement, I do agree.
