I agree that a USB key is a good solution, and that if I encrypt my
text file I get far more security. Also, provided that few people
adopt gnupg/pgp, putting gnupg/pgp software into the key would be an
interesting choice, although that would mean install multiple versions
(linux, windows,...).

Nevertheless I am looking for a way to store id/passwords
_on_the_net_, directly on the net. So that I can retrieve my data even
when I cannot access the hardware (example: public computer at the
airport, locked into a security case).
That way I could tell my wife over the phone how to retrieve data,
enter the site and, just to make an example, read the NY Times. Or
answer on my behalf to this same thread :-)
One idea: what if I put my text file into a password protected area of
my small personal site, something just like
http://kirpi.it/intranet/furti.txt
Is such a page so easy to crack?
Can you all easily access and read that page?
