we've covered this before - technical jargon is not defined or
redefined by the unwashed masses... it does not evolve in the manner
you are used to...

i'm sorry if you find it elitist, but it's also the truth... technical
jargon is such that it's expected that the majority of outsiders will
misuse the terms and as such that misuse cannot be considered a
redefinition of the terms...
