Ethereal is a great one. If Ethereal isn't showing you the traffic
you seek, the problem lies elswehwere.
Are you perhaps in a switched environment? If so, the switchport that
Ethereal sits on must be specially configured to spit all traffic
that's crossing the switch to that port. Otherwise, the port you're
on will only see packets destined for your machine.
If it's a cheap switch and it can't be put into such a mode, you might
need to pursue alternate tools that via ARP spoofing can sniff switch
traffic in which case Ettercap might be for you:
