Yeah, seriously, what's that all about? Perhaps the laws are a bit
different in Finland but where I live an employer has every legal
right to monitor their employee's computer use, the highest courts in
the land have upheld that right time and time again. We even have the
right, in many circumstances, to read all private e-mail you send and
receive. The whole issue is you're using an employer provided
computer and network, you don't own it, you're being allowed to use
it. Thus, the owner of said system and computer has the right to
monitor their system.
In any case, all employees have been long aware of our company's
Internet policy. After this most recent incident, they have also been
served notice that all future surfing will be monitored. Trust me,
we're covered.
