A few weeks ago I posted about possible censorship since
my posts were not getting out of coranto.ucs.mun.ca
and news.nfld.com .
One person suggested maybe they had been cancelled
for multiposting but even if that was true such
cancels are not honoured by all newsservers and
usually the posts make it on to the google groups
archive . Also of the articles I was concerned
about when I posted here last, though about a
third of them had mostly the same body they had
different subject lines. But I apologize for
being rude to the person who suggested the
multipost problem.
It seemed that posts to moderated groups (which
I think are e-mailed to the moderation computer
for distribution to moderator) and posts crossposted
or posted to local nf.* and sj.* were getting out.
(Also I posted a few by http://groups.google.com .)
I recently posted about this to local groups and
another user confirmed that his posts also hadn't
gotten out since the beginning of February .
I also e-mailed newsadmin (and much more) Randy
Dodge about it, with more detail and clarity than
in my earlier e-mail, and he then confirmed
that there was a problem, possibly with a
non-updated IP number for a MUN machine on
the Dalhousie upfeed machine(s) and that either
that would be fixed or he would get a temporary
feed to another local provider such as Rogers
or Aliant (the Dalhousie feed is cheaper though
there is a local groups feed to such local provider).
Anyway he did one of the two since posts are now
getting out again.
Also coincidentally the Group Telecom newsserver
that news.nfld.com maps to now is also having
problems and when I e-mailed support@nfld.com
about it they said I was not the only user
having problems, and they would speak to Group
Telecom about it (two posts of mine from there
last Sunday never did show up on coranto.ucs.mun.ca
or groups.google.com ).
So given that I guess there was no censorship,
just coincidental problems with two newsservers
and Randy Dodge not understanding and ignoring
my first e-mail of early February (rather than
my e-mail being censored and not getting to him).
But about 100 posts of mine did not get out
and now my options are just to repost most
of them with a note on the top saying they
are delayed from an original post date,
or to more laboriously read/edit/summarize
them. The first option should take me
less than a half hour, the second more than
two hours. I'll see in a minute I guess.
However the old cancellations of my Adonis and Aprodite
post to it.cultura.newage , my Global Spiritual Summit
(I guess multipost) to various groups, and
my Global Covenant... post to alt.religion.christian.roman-catholic
were still third party forged cancellations on unmoderated
newsgroups with on topic posts, and only for the
Global Spiritual Summit multipost would I have
been automatically flagged as fair game for cancellation
and even then I think it would have taken someone
with ill will to cancel it, and such someone should
have known even by the subject that the post was
relevant/on topic to a lot of newsgroups . But
anyway my Extinction Reel series was not cancelled .
However I still do not know if my posts and
webpage are still accessible in all countries.
