Help
Try reinstalling it and downloading the most current update, making
sure it completes.
There are some parasites that deliberately interfere with Ad-Aware and
SpyBot. Try SpyBot too, and maybe SpywareBlaster. Failing all else,
run HiJackThis and post the results here or email them to someone you
trust who knows how to spot running malware.
Also, don't rule out the more basic possibilities - namely, that you
may have a bad sector where Ad-Aware just so happens to be stored and
that you have at least a fair amount of excess space (>500 mb) on your
C: drive; Windows starts acting funky when it encounters bad sectors
or runs low on virtual memory.
