  Ah, I see! I (obviously) meant the archive *sites*, not the *records
in* the the archives, because, as you point out, the (incomplete)
records themselves predate my Usenet-life (by about three years).

  I figured something like this, because I found you going from 'friend'
to 'foe' and back a few times and *did* see several constructive/'nice'/
<whatever> responses from you. That is the reason why I continued. I
think it is very nice that things turned out this (good) way, just when
I was about to give up. Thanks.
