      IMO, these two comments contradict eachother: You want to post via
    Individual.Net because it "is not considered anonymous ..." and "it's
    the only way to be taken seriously", but *still* you want to be able to
    "choose" your IP address. IMO, Individual.Net has its reputation of
    being "serious" *because* (amongst other things) you can not "choose"
    your IP address.

      Note that, like you, I quote "choose" because, as has been mentioned
    in the responses, if the posting client runs on another machine, you can
    'set' the IP address to the IP address of that other machine, just not
    to *any* value.

      Coming to think of the term 'posting client', if Individual.Net OKs
    the use of a shell account (a still pending question), then you may be
    able to use a posting client like inews on the shell account and somehow
    'wire' that into your 'reader' setup.
