So use one of the many zip programs to collect however many files
you want to upload into one large compressed file. Some zip
programs will maintain subdirectory structure(s). With some zip
programs you can even password-protect the compressed file for a
certain degree of privacy. Some zip programs are free for
private use, some charge--Google should locate lots for you.

As a side effect you'll probably note that the total size of the
compressed file is a lot smaller than the sum of the individual
files. Word processor files usually have a lot of duplicated
sequences embedded and often compress 10:1; you may not need more
than 5MB total.
