How to make Outlook 2000 secure email send rich text?

I am using Outlook 2000 and I just enabled the secure email by getting
a certificate from Thawte. When I test by sending myself encrypted
messages I have noted that the format of the message is changed from
Rich text to plain text.
Is there some setting that I can change to preserve the rich text
contents of the message? I *have* checked the box in the contacts
entry for my address to send in rich text. But it seems not to work
anyway.
What am I doing wrong?

/Bo
