They can:
1. Hold them next to an operating vacuum cleaner or floor polisher or
any large electric motor that's not well shielded.
2. Rub the tag a few dozen times with a strong refrigerator magnet.
3. Find an electric outlet and plug in a tape degauser.
4. Get close enough to the magnetron in any microwave oven. (Usually
requries taking the cabinet off, but not always).
