Verisign Managed PKI - API available?

I want to write an application which uses Verisign Managed PKI. The
PKI infrastructure will be maintained by Verisign (at a cost), but my
application should be able to interact with Verisign for various PKI
operations (eg: Certificate Request, Certificate Lookup etc). The
documentation for Verisign managed PKI says, "To further ensure
seamless interoparability with virtually any application, the Managed
PKI also includes easy-to-use APIs for PKI enabling customer written
applications."
However, I was unable to find any API that interacts with Verisign
Managed PKI. Any clues?
