Why not start educating your friends? Get them to run virus scanners, or
even better still, get them to apply patches and stop opening random
attachments.

honestly, have you seen one of those in action? All the viruses that come
to my network are old, and have been patched already. I applied the "don't
click on attachments unless you know they're expected" patch several years
ago. It's difficult to apply in some environments, because it's the user
that needs patching, not the system.]
