my anonymous FTP was abused

OK, so i was a bit naieve and allowed anonymous FTP on a certain folder on
my drive. There appeared a lot of bogus folders and files and I decided to
remove any access to it.
It worked,m but now I'm stuck with some folder and files that cannot be
deleted!! I get a system message saying "Cannot read from source file or
disk". Is there a nice utility that lets me remove these folders??
I tried the trick of copying a small file into the folders but they gave the
