Some stupid police detectives recently arrested and held some folks on the
basis of an ATM machine timestamp vs. the ATM machine's video camera time
stamp. The detectives didn't even think about how or even whether the
video recorder time and the ATM time where synchronized. They were not.
It turned out to be false arrest, but that wasn't discovered until quite a
bit later. Moral of the story: Do your due dilligence and check your
facts very carefully, particularly when it comes to "time stamps" and
time synchronization (or the lack of it).
