I think that came from the wonderful feature where a Micro$oft user
could be presented with a file like somename.jpg.exe and the user
would be shown somename.jpg, click on it and somename.jpg.exe would do it's
dirty deed.

The display code assumed only one period in the program name and read
left to right looking for the period.

The execute code read right to left looking for the period to see what
to do with it.
