Generally, the Internet shows a wide spectrum of folks with various notions
of "privacy" and an attendant [sometimes to the point of its seeming
neurotic] paranoia about it. To each his own, of course, but this one has
me a bit perplexed: in order to telnet into a system you need to
identify/authenticate yourself to it. They will already know who you are,
and so what reason is there to want to hide your IP addr?
The only thing I can think of is that you're got your sights set on
attacking some system, probing for an insufficiently protected account, and
don't want them to be able to figure out where you are, but I realize that
that's prejudiced and unkind... could you, perhaps, elaborate just to
satisfy my curiosity?
