Hi. I have a question for you computer security experts.

I am a 3rd shift security officer for a hotel. In our office we have
a computer that is connected to the internet, but I was told that it
is supposed to be used for the intranet and the only website we have
permission to use is www.cnn.com.

Well, between 2am and 5am, I have nothing to do and while I am
permitted to read a book, I'm not real big on reading. I think you
probably know where I'm going with this. I want to know if they can
really know whether or not I looked at another website. I'd much
rather play cards or chess on Yahoo than read.

What precautions could I take to ensure that they don't know I'm
playing cards? I know I can erase the history selectively and just
erase the Yahoo history. Are there specific logs that I can delete or
edit, registry keys I should erase, or anything else?

I was also told that any cookies are forwarded to another server
somewhere. Well, if I disable cookies, that shouldn't matter anyway,
right? One thing I do know is that Internet Explorer is not set up on
a proxy.
