We're happy to announce the availability of our crossreferenced,
hypertext version of the HIPAA Security Rule, which we've dubbed the
Security HyperRule. We hope that this hypertext copy of the Rule will
prove convenient for folks who need to understand it and to refer to
it frequently.

It's currently in beta form, and we're looking for feedback on how
useful it is, and how it can be improved. (That is, how we can
improve our web version of it, not how the Rule itself can be
improved. :-)

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a
significant piece of legislation that empowers the Department of
Health and Human Services to establish standards for the collection
and management of health information. The Security Rule, released in
final form on February 20, 2003, establishes standards for providing
administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect health
information.

Cheers.
