I've come across this other cert called Security Certified Network
Professional and Security Certified Network Architect from the Security
Certified Program.... Could this be an alternative to a CISSP?

There is also the CIW Security Analyst....Also, Cisco Certified Security
Professional....which i suppose is targetted at the grunt staff....surely
employeres would prefer new entrants into infosec to have these certs over
that of Security+ which I believe does not have the depth in either the
technical side of the fluffy stuff above that (risk mgmt, etc..) which the
CISSP supposedly addresses...
