Obviously that guy doesn't know how to do it himself, so it's worth it to
pay someone for the software. If he wanted to get someone to "whip it up",
he'd have to pay a consultant a few hundreds of dollars, so it's in the
same ballpark. $1,000 for commercial-use software is not really very
expensive.

The real question is whether this marketing technique is effective enough
that he'll actually make his money back.
